Extended trip - Mount Buffalo - 20 - 27 March 2026

Fri, 20 Mar 2026
20-03-2026 15:00
27-03-2026 16:00

The most popular trip on the VCC calendar!  Spaces are limited so act quickly. The trip will also be an informal launch of the 7th edition of the Mt Buffalo guide (new in 2026).

Trip Organiser - Steve Toal

Email the trip organiser for more information or to register for the trip.

Camping

We will be camping at the Lake Catani Campground. Sites have been booked for either 3 nights (Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd) or all 7 nights. To keep this simple, participants need to sign up to one or the other.

Fees are $30 per person for the 3 nights, or $56 for the whole week. No payment is required now. You pay when your booking is confirmed - see the 'Booking' section below.

If you're not planning to stay the whole time, let Steve know and he will keep a list of availability. If someone wants to take up the other nights, they can reimburse you.

Note: Car parking is technically limited to one car per site. You can legally park in front of the day shelter.  The fee for additional vehicles (if it is charged) is $10 per night. Those who need to park on site (vans etc) might be hit with an additional $10 per night fee, although PV has not enforced this in the past.

Requirements

This trip is open to members and guests, and intermediate and advanced climbers only. Find your level here at the Trip Participant Guidelines or contact the trip organiser.

All intending participants can expect the trip organiser to ask for details about your climbing experience and gear.

Booking

Email the trip organiser to register for the trip.

This is important! The trip organiser will be in touch after you register to confirm your booking. You are not booked on the trip until you are confirmed by Steve. Bookings close two weeks before the start date, enough time to finalise campsite payments.

Car Pooling

The club encourages car pooling. However, this is optional and each participant should make their own risk assessment. The trip organiser will contact participants before the trip to arrange carpools.
